My penchant for architecture has only increased over my academic and professional career. The journey from knowing very little about architecture to seeing my designs come to life has been quite overwhelming for me. I have always envisioned myself to be associated with things that would do well for mankind and architecture affords me a path to that.
In 2014, I worked with the NGO Mumbai Environmental Social Network (MESN) to conduct surveys and suggest design interventions for upgrading slums in Mumabi. In 2017, I led a workshop on “Architecture of Oneness” as a part of an unconference held by the NGO Blue Ribbon Movement (BRM).
My final year undergraduate project, “Shaishav – A Steiner School at Udaipur,” was an unconventional topic based on Dr. Rudolf Steiner’s philosophies of education and architecture. The project aimed to promote the Steiner Education system for schools to progress the current Indian education system and to improve the architecture of schools, making them more student friendly.
I received my B. Arch degree from Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Architecture in 2018; I was the co-editor of my annual college magazine in 2015. After graduating, I worked at Hiten Sethi and Associates, where projects like “Railway Stations” and “Science Center” were highlights.
