Illinois School of Architecture Celebrates the Class of 2016
Convocation began with the procession of degree candidates led by the traditional bagpiper. Peter Mortensen, Director of the School, welcomed the candidates and their families. Drake Dillard, AIA, NOMA, Senior Project Manager with Perkins+Will served as the keynote speaker; Dillard is a 1974 BSAS graduate of the School and 1976 M.Arch graduate of Howard University. Student speakers were Bradley Berg (BSAS ’16) and Brian Henks (M.Arch ’16).
The Illinois School of Architecture class of 2016 consists of students who graduated in fall 2015 and spring 2016, as well as those projected to graduate in summer 2016. The class totals 183 across the school’s three disciplines:
- BSAS: 93
- M.Arch: 84
- MSAS: 3
- Ph.D.: 3
