Illinois Faculty and Alums Selected to Advance in "Missing Middle" Affordable Housing Design Competition
Faculty and alumni from the School of Architecture have been selected among 42 teams across the U.S. to submit designs for affordable housing on standard Chicago residential lots. Designs will be exhibited at the Chicago Architecture Center in March 2023.
The selected teams include:
Canopy Architecture and Design (founded by alum Jaime Torres Carmona)
Chicago Design Office (Architecture faculty Aneesha Dharwadker, with architect Nathan Hemming of Studio NH and landscape architect and Illinois faculty member Conor O’Shea of Hinterlands)
Ross Barney Architects (founded by alum Carol Ross Barney)
Vladimir Radutny Architects (founded by alum Vladimir Radutny)
