Heather Grossman to Speak at Society of Architectural Historians Conference
The SAH Conference—the premier world meeting of architectural historians—brings together international scholars of architectural history of all periods to exchange new research and ideas. Grossman’s paper, “Building Memory in Medieval Mediterranean Architecture,” will be featured on the panel “Constructing Memory in Ancient and Pre-Modern Architecture.” It considers ways that cultural memory is embedded in architectural forms and the intersection of identity-bearing architectural mnemonics with a practical memory used by architects and builders to transmit architectural ideas and methods of making between themselves and their patrons.
