2024 EDRA Achievement Award Winner
UIUC ISoA Assistant Professor Wei (Windy) Zhao, PhD, was recently honored with the Environmental Design Research Associate (EDRA) Achievement Award. To be eligible for this award, Windy’s work on “Home Beyond the House: Transformation of Life, Place and Tradition in Rural China” demonstrated a high level of innovation, praising methods employed, ideas presented and practices used.

Her work on “Making Participants the Photographers: Meaning of Home As Seen through the Eyes of Rural Residents in China,” was recognized for combining expertise in design, research, and practice, and contributing to the creation of dynamic, humane places that engage our attention and imagination.
