Architectural Potluck

The Illinois School of Architecture stands at a historic juncture, with the hire of over a dozen new faculty members in the last five years along all ranks. This new faculty exhibition invites this multi-generational vanguard to the proverbial and physical table to participate in an architectural “potluck.” Each faculty member contributes a “table setting” to a new communal table in the TBH atrium via a single drawing, model, or artifact that exemplifies their near future aspirations for teaching, research, and engaged practice at the School.
During the run of show, the table will be activated with 3 sets of panel discussions that invite the faculty contributors to unpack their table settings and engage in dialogue with the broader School of Architecture community as we collectively debate and speculate on the future identity and ambition for the school. In the process, the exhibition aims to spawn unlikely alliances, new collaborations, and timely conversations. Join us in the atrium on the following dates:
- Lunchtime Tabletalk – Volume 1: Wednesday, September 18 at 12pm featuring Yazmin Crespo, Joseph Altshuler, Emilee Matthews, Kate Holliday, and Wekeana Lassiter. Moderated by Akima Brackeen.
- Lunchtime Tabletalk – Volume 2: Monday, September 23 at 12pm featuring Windy Zhao, Cyrus Dochow, Tom Leslie, Alina Nazmeeva, and John Clark. Moderated by Joseph Altshuler.
- Lunchtime Tabletalk – Volume 3: Wednesday, October 2 at 12pm featuring Julie Zook, Niloufar Emami, Siobhan McKissic, Akima Brackeen, and Hugh Swiatek. Moderated by John Clark.
